The polls measured preferred honeymoon settings and the most important reasons why couples choose a honeymoon resort, hotel, cruise or B & B.

As the attached chart reflects, 60 percent of couples desire to take that special romantic honeymoon vacation in a tropical setting. Twenty-three percent want to honeymoon in a city environment, 8 percent in the mountains, 3 percent on a safari, 3 percent in a winter location, 2 percent backpacking and 1 percent at a golf resort.

The honeymoon planning site conducts regular pre-wedding and pre-honeymoon polls as well as post-honeymoon surveys and posts the results on the website while rating its 3,000 resorts, hotels, cruise lines and B & Bs in its Search Engine with scores from 0 – 100 and written comments from returning honeymoons on their experiences.

Honeymoon Contest Could Help Make Couples? Dreams Come True

Honeymoon Contest Could Help Make Couples’ Dreams Come True

Winona, MN (PRWEB) January 2, 2006 –

Couples who dream of the perfect honeymoon could get some help making those dreams come true, thanks to a contest sponsored by two honeymoon-related websites.

Creative Honeymoon Ideas (http://www.CreativeHoneymoonIdeas.info) and Traveler’s Joy honeymoon registry (http://www.TravelersJoy.com) have teamed up to sponsor the contest, in which couples describe their dream honeymoon in 300 words or less for a chance to win $ 100. The prize money is deposited in a Traveler’s Joy honeymoon registry account; the winning couple has the option of either withdrawing the money, or using the registry to give their wedding guests the chance to contribute toward their honeymoon. Entries will be judged on quality and originality. The winning entry, along with honorable mentions, will be featured at both Creative Honeymoon Ideas and Traveler’s Joy as a way of inspiring other couples to dream more creatively about their own honeymoons. The contest runs about 30 days, making the odds of winning much better than in most honeymoon contests.

Creative Honeymoon Ideas helps couples think creatively as they dream about their honeymoon. The site lists some fun, offbeat honeymoon destinations—like a tropical treehouse, or a hotel made of snow and ice (both of which boast honeymoon packages!). But it also suggests more ordinary honeymoon ideas with a creative twist—hidden Hawaii, for instance, or a honeymoon cruise aboard a paddlewheel steamboat.

Traveler’s Joy, an online honeymoon registry, specializes in helping couples to make their dream honeymoon a reality. Couples create a free account, build a customized registry complete with honeymoon details and photos, and then send registry notices to their wedding guests. The couple receives a wedding gift they will remember for a lifetime: the perfect honeymoon.

For complete terms and conditions, and to enter the contest, visit http://www.CreativeHoneymoonIdeas.info/contest.htm.

Honeymooner’s Review Guide Releases their Latest Poll on Romance and Honeymoons

Honeymooner’s Review Guide Releases their Latest Poll on Romance and Honeymoons

Corona, CA (Vocus) November 28, 2007

Honeymooner’s Review Guide’s (http://www.honeymoonersreviewguide.com) latest poll shows that twenty-nine percent of couples choose Sexy Lingerie as the number one choice to enhance their honeymoon. Next was Massage Oils at eighteen percent, followed by Candles, Champagne, Bubble Bath, a Kama Sutra Kit and a Feather Tickler.

Picking the right hotel and booking a romantic room are important to creating the best ambiance for honeymoons. The honeymoon planning website found that only 25% considered their stay “passionately romantic”. Ensuring a romantic honeymoon appears to be related to good planning and using credentialed and experienced professional travel agents.

According to McKenzie, honeymooners should “First and foremost let the Hotel, Resort, Cruise line, etc. know that you are on your honeymoon. Use a qualified travel specialist because in the long run, they will save you time, money, and avoid a honeymoon disaster.”

Additional advice based upon their expertise are the following: “Arrange for a room with a King size bed; A Whirlpool bath or oversized tub; DVD player/CD player; A Minibar; A Safe is essential and Air Conditioning unless you are in the mountains or directly on the beach with a good breeze in the proper season.” McKenzie adds, “A romantic bath for two is a wonderful way to spend intimate time together during the honeymoon. Many resorts offer oversize tubs or whirlpool baths for this purpose. Many hotels can also save rooms with the best views for newlyweds.”

Romantic settings, a love-nest room with a Jacuzzi, meals in bed, or on a private patio or cabana, breathtaking sunsets and moonlit strolls on the beach don’t just happen according to Michelle McKenzie. She says that “weddings take a large toll of time and resources for couples, and often they neglect the importance of planning well for the honeymoon.”

Laverne Haller, VP of Honeymooner’s Review Guide adds, “Spice it up and personalize it. Bring candles or incense, especially that have aphrodisiac scents, to create a romantic mood. In addition, this is a great idea in case the room has an odor. You can bring silk scarves to place over lamps in the room for a touch of romance. Add a ‘Just Married’ door hanger or Mr. & Mrs. Pillow cases can be a fun addition.” For additional ideas and tips, she suggests going to their romantic honeymoon tips.

2700 couples planning their honeymoons as of November 2007, state that the perfect honeymoon consists of both practical and dreamy visions. Price and Location are utmost on their minds with 61% desiring a Tropical location with the Caribbean topping out at 42% while 17% were dreaming of a Mediterranean setting. Hawaii, Fiji, French Polynesia, and Europe top the list for most, with 68% choosing these destinations and Hawaii leading with 19% squeaking out Fiji at 18%.

McKenzie states that, “The most important steps to a successful honeymoon start with careful honeymoon planning as provided on the website, using a certified and/or experienced honeymoon specialist travel agent, and being sure that you know how to book a romantic honeymoon room.”

Honeymooner’s Review Guide, a honeymoon and destination wedding planning website offers a simple, yet complete step-by-step approach dedicated to planning that perfect honeymoon. Their website located at http://www.HoneymoonersReviewGuide.com is a honeymoon planning site which also conducts regular pre-wedding and pre-honeymoon polls as well as post-honeymoon surveys and posts the results on the website while rating over 3,000 resorts, hotels, cruise lines, and B & B’s in its Search Engine with scores from 0 – 100 and includes written comments from returning honeymooners on their experiences.

Returning Couples are welcome and encouraged to post their reviews and complete a short survey to help other couples planning their destination weddings and honeymoons. The ability of couples to rate resorts, hear stories of wonderful honeymoons as well as honeymoon disasters is important to proper honeymoon planning.

Top Honeymoon US Mainland Resort Recommendations for 2008

Top Honeymoon US Mainland Resort Recommendations for 2008

Corona, CA (Vocus) June 4, 2008

Honeymooner’s Review Guide, which provides honeymoon and destination wedding planning advice for couples has released their recent findings for honeymoon couples who are choosing the USA mainland. Reasons range from high airline costs to negative exchange rates. Also, International couples wanting to take advantage of recent great bargains on US soil are coming to the US. The top honeymoon planning website just released their 2008 recommendations for where to go and where to stay for that romantic US mainland interlude.

LaVerne Haller states, “We are seeing more and more US and International couples who are selecting honeymoon travel sites in the United States for their weddings and honeymoons this year due to high costs overseas and bargains in the States.” According to Haller, the majority of honeymooners tend to leave their native land or in the case of US citizens prefer Hawaii or the Caribbean to the mainland. However, recent high costs for US couples to fly and honeymoon in Europe, Asia and beyond has driven many to look to home for that special time together. As to European, Asian and other couples, the US looks like a great deal and offers many very romantic locales to start married life together.

Based upon data from returning honeymooners and their research, they recommend that couples consider the following for that special honeymoon or destination wedding on the US mainland (listed alphabetically):

Avalon Luxury Bed & Breakfast – Sonoma Valley, California

Bellagio, Las Vegas – Las Vegas, Nevada

Berry Springs Lodge Bed and Breakfast – Sevierville , Tenn

Blue Lake Ranch – Hesperus, Colorado

Carneros Inn – Napa, California

Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing – Branson, Missouri

Inn at Palmetto Bluff – Bluffton, South Carolina

Inn of the Five Graces – Santa Fe, New Mexico

The Inn at Bowman’s Hill – New Hope, Pennsylvania

The Tides Hotel – Miami Beach, Florida

Their latest survey is not intended to be a complete list of all the top honeymoon hotels and resorts in the US mainland, but does provide guidance for couples planning their honeymoon travel. Haller states that, “in addition to our surveys, we check each provider to ensure that they are indeed considered the ‘best of the best’.”

Ratings are based upon 25 factors and stress ambiance, activities, customer service and romance. Honeymooners Review Guide and its website, http://www.honeymoonersreviewguide.com offers couples online access to 350+ planning pages of tips, articles, ideas on romance, destinations, and a database with over 3,000 hotels and resorts, with direct access to select honeymoon travel agents and destination wedding specialists.

The website encourages couples who return from their honeymoon to complete a short survey on their experience at their website survey page.

The Perfect Destination Wedding and Honeymoon — Is it Just Plain Luck?

The Perfect Destination Wedding and Honeymoon — Is it Just Plain Luck?

Corona, CA (PRWEB) October 1, 2007

Honeymooner’s Review Guide recommends using a wedding coordinator or honeymoon destination specialist for couples planning a destination wedding or honeymoon. Survey results show that honeymoon disasters occur due to poor honeymoon planning. Planning the perfect wedding and honeymoon requires lots of research and assistance from destination wedding and honeymoon travel specialists.

“Those couples planning destination weddings and honeymoons should be sure they get professional assistance,” according to Michelle McKenzie of Honeymooner’s Review Guide. The complexities involved in a destination wedding are far greater than a traditional wedding. Even if it is just the bride and groom, caution and careful planning is her advice. Adding a wedding party and guests brings many more potential pitfalls and challenges. The website strongly suggests investing in either an independent wedding coordinator from the destination or seeking out a resort that has one in-house. Even then, careful research including checking references and talking with recent couples is advised. Tips on planning a successful destination wedding using a wedding coordinator are available on the website.

As to the honeymoon, that special romantic time alone, honeymoon Couples who fail to research hotels properly or fail to use honeymoon travel specialists may end up with honeymoon disasters. Bad experiences can lead to a failed holiday for honeymoon couples even staying at top rated resorts.

Honeymooner’s Review Guide hears from thousands of couples returning from their destination weddings and honeymoons. LaVerne Haller states, “Honeymoon experiences range from ‘Passionately Romantic’ to ‘Our Worst Nightmare’. When asked why, she adds, “brides- and grooms-to-be are very busy these days, focused on the wedding day, and rely too much on quick internet arrangements rather than seeking out a competent honeymoon travel specialist.” The online destination wedding and honeymoon planning website provides all the tools to put together a romantic, memorable destination wedding and honeymoon, and they do not make travel reservations providing objectivity.

Haller also states in her opinion, based on direct feedback from returning honeymooners, that “although internet sites like Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, etc. might be options for some travel occasions, a honeymoon is not one of them”. Choosing the right destination and accommodations is paramount to having an enjoyable wedding and honeymoon experience remembered for a lifetime. She says that she highly recommends the use of a travel specialist for a destination wedding and honeymoon, but she stresses that it is also best for couples to invest time doing research themselves. This will give them a better idea of what is available.

Where can honeymoon bound couples start? Their Guide to a Perfect Honeymoon starts with a “Honeymoon Quiz”. This assessment, along with their “Budget Cruncher” and other tools and ideas can be found on the website under honeymoon planning . Haller says that the main determinants are identifying a romantic location; a hotel, resort, cruise or other property at an affordable price that caters to romantic couples rather than families and children; good quality and selection of food; and enjoyable activities. Additionally, for honeymooners, a great guestroom and location is important and can be facilitated by reviewing their “How to book a Romantic Honeymoon Room”.

Honeymooner’s Review Guide Launches their Travel Agent Finder to Improve Couples’ Honeymoon Experiences

Honeymooner’s Review Guide Launches their Travel Agent Finder to Improve Couples’ Honeymoon Experiences

Corona, CA (Vocus) October 16, 2007

Honeymooner’s Review Guide reveals their latest honeymoon planning travel aid for couples planning their destination weddings and honeymoons. Honeymoon couples can now locate and contact experts such as destination wedding planners and honeymoon travel agents. All specialists listed on the site are carefully chosen for their experience and certification.

According to Michelle McKenzie, Vice-President of Honeymooner’s Review Guide, they were not at first convinced of the importance of using a travel agent when booking a honeymoon resort or destination wedding . Since many couples are on tight budgets, many used discount travel sites to purchase tickets, book hotels, and just pieced it all together the best they could. McKenzie went on to say that, “In a recent analysis of our survey results of honeymoon couples, we found that those who used travel agents specializing in honeymoons were significantly more satisfied with their honeymoons then couples who used the large travel websites or booked the travel themselves. The results were astounding and showed that the extra support travel agents offer can definitely improve a honeymoon vacation or destination wedding .”

After their recent findings, Honeymooner’s Review Guide is encouraging their visitors to use travel agents by offering this free referral service. Once couples go through the easy-to-use honeymoon planning stages on the website, they can narrow down their destination, and use the hotel and resort search engine to build a list of possible places to stay. Next they can identify a travel expert using the Travel Agent Finder to further discuss their options and book their transportation and accommodations.

The new feature will let couples find wedding and travel specialists by their honeymoon destination. McKenzie states, “We organized the guide by destination to maximize the ease and quality of services available to couples. More and more agents are not only specializing in serving a target group, but in specific areas of destination travel such as the Caribbean, South Pacific or Europe. This allows for much greater expertise and usually lower pricing due to the focused relationships that the agent and specialists make with hoteliers, providers and vendors.”

Couples can now start using this service and pick their honeymoon travel agent online. The listings will be expanding during the next several months as the website carefully chooses those agents who will best serve their visitors.

About Honeymooner’s Review Guide:

Honeymooner’s Review Guide is a full-scale honeymoon and destination wedding planning site, which includes a hotel and resort search engine. They also survey honeymoon couples and post their hotel reviews for other couples to read.

Newlyweds Trade Toasters for Travel

Newlyweds Trade Toasters for Travel

(PRWEB) September 11, 2004

Sales of gravy boats and monogrammed bath towels may be on the decline as newlyweds-to-be shift their registries from households to honeymoons. And, as a travel agency that specializes in honeymoon planning, Saizan’s Travel (http://www.SaizansTravel.com) is betting that this national trend is here to stay. Saizan’s Travel is now able to offer this service to its honeymoon clientele through a partnership with the online honeymoon registry company, TheHoneymoon.com. Through this affiliation, couples are able to create a custom honeymoon registry out of the honeymoon package they purchase through Saizan’s Travel, as well as a personal wedding web page to serve as a central source of information for their wedding.

As a specialist in honeymoon travel, Saizan’s Travel has seen the gradual increase in the age of honeymooners, nationally now 28 for men and 26 for women. Many of these young couples have already spent money on establishing households and usually don’t need another toaster. And, with more couples paying for some or all of their own wedding expenses, many couples find themselves settling for something less than their “dream honeymoon.” “We feel the honeymoon registry is a trend that is here to stay,” says Patricia Saizan, owner of Saizan’s Travel, “and we’re very happy to have formed a partnership with TheHoneymoon.com that gives honeymooners high tech tools with local “high touch” service. Young couples love the Internet for research, but the honeymoon is just too important to risk booking such an important event entirely online.”

About TheHoneymoon.com

The Honeymoon Registry, Inc. dba TheHoneymoon.com and based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an online honeymoon planning resourse for newlyweds-to-be. Through its website, http://www.TheHoneymoon.com, couples can shop for travel packages specifically designed for honeymoons and even find a travel agent, such as Saizan’s Travel, that specializes in honeymoon planning. Once a couple has planned the perfect honeymoon, they can create a custom honeymoon gift registry to offer their guests as an alternative to crock pots and toasters. Couples may also create a personal wedding web page to serve as a wedding information resource for their guests.
